Barceló Hotel Group will once again be attending the most important MICE industry event, ibtm world, held this year in Barcelona and visited by over 15.000 professionals from the sector.
The hotel group hasn’t stopped growing since it launched its new multibrand strategy in 2016, which was the stand-out innovation at the ibtm world that year. At the last edition of the fair, Barceló revealed its newest portfolio incorporations, the brand changes to the names of some establishments and the refurbishment work carried out at some of the hotels with greatest relevance for the MICE segment.
Further news will be revealed this year including the incorporation of new hotels in destinations such as Portugal, UAE, Spain, Turkey, Morocco and Cape Verde, amongst others, but one of the most anxiously awaited pieces of news is the innovative venue concept that has been developed at the Barceló Sants hotel and is intended as the new model for venues, looking to the future of organising meetings and presentations of any type.

New hotels, more destinations and a pioneering space for hosting meetings and presentations are amongst the latest news and innovations that Barceló will be presenting at the ibtm world fair in Barcelona.
This innovative space has been named the XRoom and it has taken inspiration from the latest technological advances that are entering the events industry and other sectors. A pioneering space within the hotel industry designed to create a disruptive innovation for our guests and for the MICE segment. This is how Barceló is looking towards the future and putting a new twist on the conventional meeting room, turning it into an innovative and immersive room, offering new possibilities to companies looking to surprise and set themselves apart thanks to a new and powerful format for meetings and presentations.
The design together with integration of the latest technology and multifunctionality has been created with the aim of transforming and personalising the space and as a result creating a more sensory and memorable experience; with lighting, video mapping, audio, connectivity and a futuristic gesture activated screen.
In the XRoom, even the simplest presentation will manage to engage and capture the attention of all the attendees, and they will become active participants in the message rather than passive spectators.
The official presentation will be on the 28th of November, during the event that Barceló Hotel Group organises every year at the Barceló Sants hotel when the ibtm is on. This event is a meeting point for some 300 MICE professionals, amongst whom we find clients, partners, hosted buyers and special guests invited by Barceló.
This year the event concept will be focusing on technology and innovation and that in turn will serve as a conductor to present the immersive room.
With this new concept, Barceló Hotel Group is looking to rise above the crowd and become a pioneer in the world of meetings, as well as getting ahead of the new trends that will affect the future of the sector.
At present it will only be available at the Barceló Sants hotel, a benchmark venue for business and congress tourism, a hotel characterised by its futuristic design and unique concept based on a space station.
The new Xroom immersive room will be a pilot run for future innovations and installations in other hotels throughout the chain. It has endless possibilities and is ideal for any type of presentation and sector, from pharmaceuticals to car manufacturers, promotion of tourist destinations to training and workshops. The only limits are those of the imagination of the organiser.
