Barcelo Hotel Group announces a new milestone in its expansion plans in the United Arab Emirates. For the first time, the hotel chain will introduce its Occidental brand to the region through its new project, the Occidental IMPZ Dubai Conference and Events Centre, which is due to open in September 2018. The opening implies a consolidation of the brand in the Middle East and a significant increase in its presence there over the next five years.
With its proximity to the EXPO 2020 reference point and only 30 minutes from Dubai’s airports, the new hotel will be located in the heart of the business district and will offer modern and varied meeting and conference rooms for exhibitors.
The new hotel, based in Dubai, will serve as a meeting and conference centre for the forthcoming EXPO 2020
“From conception to completion, the IMPZ Dubai Conference and Events Center represents a modern and surprising complement to the accommodation on offer in Dubai,” says Raúl González, CEO EMEA of Barceló Hotel Group.
“We are continuing to grow in the United Arab Emirates, and we are adapting our strategy to meet the needs of both local residents and of international leisure and business travellers. There is a great demand for Barceló in the Middle East and enthusiasm for the distinctive design, privileged locations and the comprehensive high-quality service that characterizes us throughout the world“.
This new property is only one of eight new initiatives that Barceló announced they were considering in the Emirates, as Jaime Buxó, General Director of Business Development at Barceló Hotel Group commented. As one of the leaders of the hospitality industry at the global level, the Barceló Hotel Group vision is to make its excellent service available in the United Arab Emirates.
The Occidental IMPZ Dubai will offer 239 spacious rooms with every comfort and a contemporary design. For business travellers, the bedrooms and the five meeting rooms will feature state-of-the-art technology with Smart Automation System, Smart TV and high-speed Wi-Fi access. In addition, the hotel will offer six different dining options, a ballroom, conference area, two swimming pools and a fitness centre.
Barceló currently operates two hotels in the region – Barceló Residences Dubai Marina and Occidental Sharjah Grand – and it intends opening the new Barceló Al Jadaf hotel in Dubai in June 2019.
Rooms and Suites
The construction will consist of two adjacent, inter-connected buildings known as Target and Seeb. The two buildings will contain 111 and 128 spacious rooms respectively, as well as high-tech conference rooms. The grand ballroom and the lobby will be the ideal place to organise themed events. Divided into classic rooms, superior rooms, junior suites and suites, the hotel will welcome business and leisure travellers who will be able to relax here while they explore the cosmopolitan city of Dubai and its surroundings.
A variety of gastronomic experiences await guests to the hotel, all related to the senses, including a restaurant that will be open throughout the day, a coffee shop, the Tapas Sports Bar, a Pool Bar, a Rooftop Lounge and a multifunctional gastronomic offer. This wide offer of catering options is designed to revitalize the social scene in Dubai with flavours and an environment that takes its inspiration from the vibrant culture of Spain.
The hotel will also have a spacious gym, offering guests the opportunity to access box gym packages for intensive exercise, or to enrol in a muscle relaxation, yoga or Pilates class. Clients will also have a beauty salon and spa at their disposal, and each building will have its own heated swimming pool.
